Great Owl Funds

Great Owl Funds GO rank top in their
categories for multiple evaluation periods, at least 3 years and older.
While past returns should never be the only reason to choose a fund, working from a pool of consistent top
performers and understanding their risk profiles is a sensible start.
For example, 20-year Great Owls have delivered top quintile returns based on Martin Ratio [aka MFO Rating] for
the past 20, 10, 5, and 3 year periods ... an impressve record worth noting.
Results are presented below, sorted initially by broad investment Type (BD - Bond, ALT - Alternative, MA - Mixed Asset, EQ - Equity, COM - Commodity, MM - Money Market), then by Category, Age Group, and Name.
Risk and return metrics are for display period selected. Default display period is oldest applicable evaluation period based on Age Group (20, 10, 5, or 3 years). Composite MFO Risk and Ratings are weighted averages across applicable periods (20, 10, 5, 3, and 1 year), with emphasis on older periods.

Use the QuickSearch or MultiSearch tool to perform a more tailored search, like large-cap Great Owls that reside at Vanguard.
This tool includes Great Owls for oldest share class only. Other share classes may or may not receive the GO designation, depending on expense ratio and age of fund. Beginning April 2026, the MultiSearch and Portfolios tools show the distinction for all share classes, as applicable.
Please note that the GO designation may offer little help for categories that exhibit little or no drawdown, like Money Market funds, since it is based on Martin Ratio. The same is true for any risk adjusted return metric. Better to use other designations, like Honor Roll HR , or top quintile return [annualized percent return, APR]. Similar caution when evaluating periods of low volatility, like 2017.
